About the Ranch Stay:

This program is open to students between the ages of 16 and 25 years of age and can run anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks in length. The fee for the program depends on the length of stay you choose. You also need to budget for your own health insurance and spending money. The host family will provide a room and board in return for your help with the family chores of living day to day on a farm.

We have farms across the US,  located in

  • Montana
  • Nebraska
  • Maine
  • Massachusetts
  • Kansas
  • California
  • Georgia.

We have ranches ranging from;

  • vegetable farms
  • dairy farms
  • cattle farms
  • crop farms
  • farms with horses

You’ll stay with your host family on the ranch.

Host families are open-minded people who enjoy learning about cultures and appreciate the unique opportunity hosting gives their family. They provide you with room and board and (in cooperation with our partners) transportation to and from the closest airport.

Meals are included

Weekend Activities

Many different social activities take place in rural farm or ranch communities. On weekends the family might attend state or county fairs, livestock shows or rodeos. The host family may decide to take you with them on a trip to nearby lakes, mountains or the city.

But because summer and fall are busy times for agricultural families and the land and the animals need daily care, this is not guaranteed in the experience and should not be expected. Participants will be treated as a member of the family.

To be eligible to participate you must be between the ages of 16 and 25. Previous farm or ranch experience is not required, only the desire and willingness to learn and join in the day-to-day chores which make up life on a farm or ranch.
