Department: The Ranch at Emerald Valley

Pay: $12/hour + gratuity (average $15/hour)
Min Contract Length: 6 months



Description:


Ensure total guest satisfaction through prompt and efficient service in a courteous and professional manner. Responsible for total care and safety of guests and horses by performing following duties.

Essential Functions:


Smile and welcome guests with a positive attitude, acquaint guests to the property and share details of facilities. Answer questions and keep guest’s needs at the forefront. Assist other positions and departments, ensure effective communication with all staff regarding daily horseback riding reservations and activities. Assist with ongoing clean up after livestock and trash. Guide guests on hikes, as well as assist guests with other activities such as fly-fishing, archery, mountain biking etc. Assist with general landscape duties; clearing snow, leaves, mowing, watering, keeping up flower pots and roads. Know and give directions on hiking trails, asses each individual on riding ability and assign a horse, groom each horse daily and assess wounds or abnormal behaviour. Ability to predict and prevent accidents to ensure safety of guests. Provide basic medical care to horses, ability to saddle and unsaddle up to 20 horses a day.

Experience/Requirements


While performing the duties the employee is required to stand, walk talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally required to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
