Top Free Things to do in London

Top Free Things to do in London

Author -  Pops

London is an amazing city with so many things to do and see! It can be quite expensive to live in London, but there are so many things you can do for free! From museums to parks to sightseeing, here’s our top free things you can do in London town!

Markets

There are so many markets to visit from Borough, to Portobello. One of my favourites is Camden Market and it has so much going on! Visit the markets and see some of the interesting and out there shops on offer, or try out some vintage clothes. If you like free food, go round the stalls and ask for some free samples!!

Shoreditch

Shoreditch is a very cool part of London, from junkyard golf to pop up bars, this is the place to be! If you are looking for some free things to do here, have a wander down Brick Lane, famous for it’s curry and street art, or maybe pop over to Box Park or Dinorama, where they have pop up food and drink venues.

Platform 9 3/4

Pop over to Kings Cross station and get yourself a photo crashing through the wall and off to Hogwarts! The queues get really long, so try and get there on a week day if you can. There’s also a Harry Potter shop next door!

Museums and Art Galleries

There are so many museums in London you can go to for free! Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Science Museum, Tate Modern, Whitechapel Gallery, to name a few!

Sightseeing

There are so many historical buildings to see for free! Check out the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliment, or even see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace!

Southbank

Southbank is an awesome place to head for the day. There is always something going on along the river! Start at Shakespeare’s Globe, where you can see the amazing building and then wander along the river checking out the street food and music. Watch local skaters in the skatepark and check out Underbelly in the summer for a variety of live music! At Christmas the Southbank comes to life with festive things to do too!

Parks

There are some beautiful parks in London, rent a bike and cycle round Hyde Park, or pop over to Finsbury Park and try to spot the deer, or relax at one of the many commons dotted around the city!

Events

London has so many free events to go to, from music festivals to carnivals to Winter Wonderland! The best place to find some of these, is at timeout.com, where you can search by date or weekend, to find out what’s going on in the area!
