Position: Soa Concierge
Department: Spa
Start Date: Any Time
Pay Rate: US$8.00/hour + tips (average of $12 per hour
Min. Contract Length: 12 months

Description:

Greet guests into the Spa areas (salon, fitness center, and spa). Perform cashiering duties. Answer questions about services offered. Assist with reservations when needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Display the behaviors and attitudes that support Spa mission, vision and values.
  • Provide friendly and professional service to all internal and external guests and exhibit a positive attitude at all times.
  • Greet guests and visitors of the spa. Answer all calls into the spa business line.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding good and services available at the spa.
  • Become knowledgeable about spa products and services in order to accurately sell and up-see products and services to guests.
  • Book appointments accordingly. Sell soa gift certificates to appropriate clientele.
  • Schedule package guests and group bookings as assigned: perform appropriate follow-through.
  • Confirm appointments when requested by guests or management.
  • Ring in sales for all services rendered and products purchased.
  • Balance register and bank on a daily basis while also dropping cash daily.
  • Perform opening and closing facility procedures as assigned.
  • Check work email account regularly during every shift and correspond to emails accordingly.
  • Verify technicians’ lunch breaks and appointments are properly scheduled every morning; troubleshoot when necessary.
  • Provide accurate schedule information to technicians and fellow spa representatives regarding service to be rendered.
  • Generate accurate reports for spa and hotel management to review.
  • Assist with bookkeeping and tracking of sales from other departmental referrals.
  • Attend and participate in ongoing training, both formal and informal, needed to effectively perform job responsibilities.
  • Support fellow employees in the performance of their jobs.
  • Be flexible and positive to changes required to enhance guest experience or to meet the fiscal needs of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience/Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

What do I need to apply?

  • You need to be a full time tertiary student (course needs to be 12+ months) or a recent tertiary graduate (last 12 months) from a full time course - online courses are not accepted.
  • You need to hold a current NZ or Australian passport
  • You will need to be aged 18-30 years old.

In order to qualify as a graduate or current student you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a NZ or Australian passport.
  • Be a bona fide student or recent tertiary graduate. To be considered a bona fide post-secondary student, the potential participant must have completed his/her first year.
  • A recent graduate is defined as an Australian or New Zealand citizen who has graduated from a post-secondary college/university in their home country within the last 12 months. The applicant must provide evidence of student status.
  • Vocational students pursuing studies at a tertiary level accredited educational institution are eligible for participation.
  • Applicants must provide proof of sufficient financial resources, prior to coming to the United States, to support themselves during a search for employment or between breaks in employment.
