1. Poutine

Canada’s most famous dish consisting of fries, cheese curds and gravy, you absolutely have to try poutine in Canada! You’ll find it everywhere, with some places even adding things like lobster or chicken!

2. Beaver Tails

Beaver Tails are kind of like doughnuts, but big and flat! Usually they come with cinnamon and sugar, but you can find them with all sorts of toppings, from m’n’ms to maple syrup!

3. Nanaimo Bars

These delicious bars have a chocolate base, custard butter icing and another layer of chocolate. Originally from Nanaimo, on the east coast of Vancouver Island, you can even take a self-guided tour there and try creative interpretations of the Nanaimo bars, along 39 stops!

4. Timbits

When I lived in Canada, Tim Hortons was a 45 minute drive away. My housemates would drive there just to get some timbits! They are basically doughnut holes, that you can get with different toppings too. They are delicious, and well worth a 45 minute drive!

5. Bloody Caesars

Technically a drink, however basically a meal in itself! Similar to a Bloody Mary, these have Clamato juice in them and Canadians really go to town on the presentation! Decorated with mac n cheese to bacon, sliders, shrimp, and even chocolate cake, these will definitely fill you up!
