What animals will I look after?

At the Reptile Love Volunteer Project, you'll be taking care of reptiles and amphibians from all over South Africa. Some of these animals are brought to the Centre for conservation purposes, and others just need a little bit of R&R before they're released into a safe new environment. You'll also work with animals that have wandered onto nearby farms and are causing problems, and while none of the reptiles at the Centre are bred or sold, you'll get to participate in many different types of research during your stay.

About the Reptile Love Project

The Reptile Centre is near the town of Hoedspruit, and it's part of a nationwide endangered species advocacy initiative. This centre provides tours, rehabilitates animals, and conducts reptile research. While all of the reptiles at the Reptile project are harmless, there is a widespread belief throughout Africa that most snakes are dangerous, and the reptile lovers at the project work tirelessly to save these needlessly feared animals and protect their well-being through education.

There are lots of snakes in the Hoedspruit area, which keeps the Reptile Centre busy, and the staff at this unique centre are always happy to relocate unwanted reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids.
