Nannying Jobs in England

cont...

You just won't believe all the stuff that is here, it is just so amazing I cant stop smiling! (Which I guess is a good thing because that's soooo much better than crying!) New York was soooo cool...just like in the movies, big, fast, glitzy and busy. We did a bus tour and visited lots of famous places. I saw ground Zero (sad), went up 86 floors of the Empire State Building, saw the statue of Liberty (except it was dark and didn't really see much) and saw lots of cool places that are in movies like Time Square and statues and stuff...I also saw the building where all the Ballets are performed and musicals and stuff! If you come to New York you will just love it, the shopping and malls are amazing you would fit right in! I just cant explaining it but its just like in the movies! If you visit (which you soooo should do!), see everything ok!

I made a really good friend with a girl at our 4 day orientation in New York named Cecelia from Sweden...she is soooo much fun. She is 19, very pretty and likes to have fun and take crazy photos and all the kinds of things I like to do! The coolest thing is that she will be living in Washington DC (not at the whitehouse though!!!) which is only about 45 min by train away from here! So we plan to go and visit New York together again soon and see a ballet or a musical on Broadway!!!! Far out it feels like I'm in a movie!)

It snowed the second day I was here...lots of it! It was REAL! The snow is so white and cold and fluffy and it is so exciting! You would love the snow! I could just get a plank or something and snowboard down the street, there is soooo much of it!

I just have to tell you about my new house/mansion where I will be living for the next year! Firstly, the family are so nice...so far I have only met two of the kids (who are very cute and nice!) and the mum and dad and they are so lovely, I haven't been nervous or sad (just excited!) since I have arrived which Im glad about! When we arrived in their driveway last night in the dark my mouth nearly dropped open. I hadn't seen any pictures or anything of what their house was like so in my mind I just thought it would be like those ones in the movies like Home Alone or something....well, this house is even nicer! It is 4 stories and 2 years old. They live on a street where the houses are all huge like this one and about 200m apart. Behind us is a forest where there are bears and deer and stuff but at the moment because its winter there are just stick trees and no leaves! Inside the house it is so neat. They decorated it old fashioned and they have two dining areas, one with a big chandelier over the big long table and have nearly two of everything! Two dishwashers, ovens, microwaves etc!

My room.......well! I get the whole 1st floor to myself. It is kind of the basement area but not really, it is very nice like the rest of the house! On my floor I have a ping pong table (in its own room!), a gym room with an exercise and a walking machine, there is a mini pool table and soccer table, there is a playroom for the kids as well. Then I have my own lounge with a TV (48") which is more like a movie theatre!!!! My room is very very nice...they are going to paint it a colour I like so maybe apple green or something. It isnt that big but a good size with a really high 4 post bed in it, my own phone, stereo etc! The wardrobe is nearly as big as the room! (I will try and email some photos later ok!) I also have my own bathroom! I feel like a princess (but hey, all girls are princesses eh!!!!!)  Its snowing again now which is sooooo cool! I love it!

"I can not believe I have been back in NZ now for three months. I REALLY enjoyed my year abroad, it was fab. I was very lucky to have live in two states. My host mother is a breast surgeon and my host dad is a surgical nurse. My host family lived in Medway, MA; just out of Boston. My host mum, PR was offered a really good job down in Hartford, CT. So I spent seven months in Medway then we moved down to Glastonbury, CT; about ten minutes out of Hartford. Kevin 6 and Katie 2 where great kids to look after, they are so cute. I didn't want to come home at the end of my year. Both counsellor's I had where wonderful, Leeann from Medfield, MA; and Jo Ann from Wethersfield, CT. All my friends from the USA have been asking when I'm going to go back over. For those girls out there who are looking at going over for their big OE, GO FOR IT; its an experience of a life time".

"My family are AWESOME and I have developed such a wonderful relationship with Rachel.  I don't need to discipline her anymore, she just knows.  I have been doing small trips now, and I went on the Potomac cruise with the rest of the 400 au pairs from two clusters!!!  It was very interesting.  I don't think I have been with so many girls in my life!!!!! I have started my first set of classes, and am doing Interior decorating and Water aerobics.  It's loads of fun, and is nearly finishing.  I will do some more beginning of next year". Lee S.
